Our Story

Established 1978 • A Family Legacy

The Founding Vision

A sanctuary for family, defined by space.

Latellya Smith founded Woodlake RV Park with a simple but powerful goal: to create a place where families could relax by the river and enjoy the outdoors without ever feeling crowded.

She believed that the true magic of the San Juan Mountains could only be felt when you had the space to breathe and the quiet to hear the rustle of the aspens. That philosophy remains our guiding light today.

Nearly 50 years later, Woodlake stands as a testament to that vision—offering some of the most spacious and unhurried sites in the Lake City region.

A Legacy of Welcome

Our entrance sign stands as a familiar welcome to generations of families who return to Woodlake year after year. Located just 2.5 miles south of historic Lake City on Highway 149, it marks the transition from the paved world to mountain serenity.
